Gary J. Klavans is a graduate of Emerson College, Boston.
He has recently picked up the reins as a producer, when asked he said
“I have a lot of respect for the hands-on producer. I’d much rather surround myself with people who know more and let them do the job, but now I more fully understand the job I want them to do.”
He has been writing professionally since 1988, when he wrote individual scenes for acting classes, workshops, and showcases. He is proud that his scene-work is still being used in classrooms today.
Gary’s first produced collection of one-acts “Crossroads Bar & Grille” (1989) was met with critical acclaim and hailed as a favorite by the actors. His successful theatrical productions include his trilogy, “Love Sex & Massachusetts” (1993), which became the only theatrical production to be produced by the Hard Rock Café Restaurant Corp., and his first full length play “Happy Christmas Merry Chanukah” (2002), which debuted at Los Angeles’ premier repertory theatre company, Company of Angels, and received both critics pick and critics choice.
Gary has also written and optioned a variety of screenplays, including the romantic comedies “Nothing but Trouble,” and “Summer Winds” and the horror thriller “Bellows Falls” (Bellows Falls is currently slated for development by Beyond Reason Productions, LLC).
For TV, Gary sold the 1-Hour drama “1-11 South Street”, and wrote the pilot episode of the teen dramedy “Rosarito Weekend” for PAX TV.
As an actor, Gary received honors for the films Nothing but The Best, The Best is Yet to Come, The Family Business, Moment of Anger, Diamond Confidential, and most recently, Reason (Reason is currently still screening in festivals).
With Beyond Reason Productions, LLC Gary hopes to bring compelling, innovative stories of all genres to the screen.
